Very interesting castle at the top of a hill. The views from top are astounding. The informative placards also mention the critical battles that happened nearby (Crusades and with Mongols).

I had the pleasure to visit Ajloun Castle for the first time this year in July. It’s an interesting castle to visit while you’re in Jordan. It has amazing views since it’s located on a high hill.

A very nice castle with many things to explore on various levels. Take some time to appreciate the castle and its beautiful views over the Jordan Valley, rolling hills, and olive groves. If you come late afternoon the sunset view is great for some amazing photos. Staff is also very friendly. I did not plan to stay long, but ended up staying for about 2 hours, taking in the fresh breeze and the stunning views. Also, visit the museum. Bring water, as I was not able to buy bottled water inside the castle.

Wow, what a stunning castle - it is well preserved and has so much to see inside! The view from the top is incredible (you can see all the way to Palestine 🇵🇸). +1⭐️ for the cats.

Nice well maintained castle. The view from the castle to all the sides is spectacular. Definitely good spot for seeing a sunrise or a sunset. The castle has a lot if floors and rooms to explore as well.

This castle is well worth the trip. It is in great condition with a lot of we'll kept artifacts. The castle is well run with guides to help in the museums.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the majestic presence of the castle, perched atop a hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The well-preserved structure and its intricate details were truly awe-inspiring. Exploring the castle's interior was like stepping back in time. The knowledgeable guides provided fascinating insights into the castle's history, sharing captivating stories and anecdotes that brought the site to life. The well-maintained exhibits and artifacts further enriched the experience, showcasing the castle's significance in the region's history. One of the highlights was climbing to the top of the castle's towers, where I was rewarded with mesmerizing vistas of the Jordanian landscape. The views were simply breathtaking, and I couldn't resist taking numerous photographs to capture the beauty of the moment. The castle grounds were well-maintained, with plenty of informative signage and resting areas. The staff members were friendly, accommodating, and more than willing to answer any questions I had. Overall, my visit to Ajloun Castle was nothing short of extraordinary. Its historical significance, impressive architecture, and stunning surroundings make it a true gem in Jordan's cultural heritage. I highly recommend this site to anyone seeking an immersive and enchanting journey back in time.

Great historical place .. full of experience.. One thing is that it needs a shuttle bus to carry the eldest people up to the top of the mountain.. we were a group and the old women couldn’t visit the castle because it’s a hard road for them to walk in

It's a beautiful castle with a stunning view. Must see! Inside is a small museum and the staff is cleaning pottery.

Wonderfully preserved castle from the ancient times and you can explore quite a bit of it. There are lots of cats in the area and all of them are very friendly. I would recommend coming here for a quick visit for your Jordan trip. You can enter with your Jordan pass, but I don’t recall them checking our passes when we went inside.

The place is beautiful, and have a rich history. However, some people are disgusting, whether they are throwing trash or smoking inside the castle. I do strongly believe that the tourism ministry should enforce more strict rules when it comes to the historical sites cleanliness. Other than this, the castle is so beautiful and I recommend you to visit.

A 12th century Castle built by the Muslims to defend against the Crusades. The Castle itself is well preserved, with panoramic views towards the Jordan valley, thus making it strategically important. Also don't forget to get the traditional tea at the carpark when leaving the castle.

As a tour driver so I visit Ajloun around once a week it’s really can be one of the best castles in Jordan that is still in good shape

A small castle way up high on a small hill. The castle is very well preserved with lots of rooms, tight stairs, cornices. Cool and dark inside, like a real castle. We went on a friday (holiday), and wow, was it crowded with locals. Bus after bus, cars, packed the tight road up, people everywhere. Total pandemonium. No place to sit and enjoy the castle, kids, moms everywhere. Folks picnic on side of road, under trees, on steps wherever. Excellent WC inside, south end, well marked. Views of valley and local mountains are quite nice (cannot see the river, dam, though). Funicular is right beside it, 8JD pp, a bit expensive to see basically not much for a 30min ride. Parking is free, but finding it is luck, and courage. The walk up is non trivial. Show your Jordan Pass at gate, before security (all bags x-ray). Road trip there is challenging, tight roads, circles, winding hills, through the dense town of Ajloun where folks stop wherever they want. 3 stars cause it's a lot of work to get there, and then, it's too crowded to enjoy any time there. 10JD entry is a bit steep for all that.

We loved the place it is ao rich with history and well maintained! It is a must visit for families specially with kids it could enrich their knowledge and widen their learning. It was a beautiful rainy day which i found perfect for this visit!

Ajloun Castle can be seen on the Mount Ajlon hilltop. As soon as we see it for the first time, we want to be there as soon as possible. Fortunately, we can get there quickly by car. Its stormy history left a serious mark on the castle. You can't get enough of the unique landscape of the Jordan Valley.

Beautiful and precious monument of history, largely well preserved on hilltop with great view to neighbouring countries. There are signs everywhere to explain historical context. Also there shops within the castle where you can buy some souvenirs. Enough parking spaces. Entry fee is fair.

Ajloun Castle Standing 1250 meters above sea level is Ajloun Castle. Ajloun Castle is a 12th Century fortress that was built under the rule of the sultan and military leader Saladin. The Castle is set on top of Mount ‘Auf and provides visitors with astonishing views of the Jordan Valley and surrounding desert. Over the years the castle has undergone many rebuilds and although much of the original features no longer exist, there are many chambers, carvings, and towers to keep both adults and children interested.

You will enjoy it for the fresh air, the nice view, and for the hiking. The restaurant is good but could be better. You may stay at night in the cabins but the price is high in comparison with the provided services. You may too try the zip line. Other than that, there are no much activities to be done.

The Ajloun Forest Reserve Trail transforms into a breathtaking landscape during the winter, especially just after a refreshing rain. The air is crisp, carrying the earthy scent of damp soil and pine. The trail weaves through ancient woodlands, where the vibrant greenery glistens with raindrops, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of nature's hues. As you traverse the path, the sound of your footsteps is accompanied by the gentle symphony of droplets falling from leaves. The after-rain silence is interrupted only by the occasional chirping of birds, adding a serene soundtrack to your journey. The wet ground beneath your boots provides a firm grip, making the hike both invigorating and safe. The bare trees, adorned with droplets resembling nature's jewels, stand as sentinels of resilience. Occasionally, rays of sunlight pierce through the thick canopy, casting enchanting shadows on the trail. The air is filled with a renewed sense of life and vitality, as if the forest has been awakened by the touch of rain.

Lovely place to be in the heart of Nature 🌳 The staff are friendly and zealous! I went with a friend, and we took the small trail, so beautiful and informative, well maintained and indicated, easy and enjoyable between the oak trees and Greek strawberries trees, amazing landscape... Also what makes it great is that there are a lot of shaded areas! This trail can be done alone, no need for a guide. It is suitable for a family with young age children 🥾🥾. The contribution fees are: 2.5 JD for Jordanians 8 JD for foreigners Or you can end your wonderful small hike at the restaurant and enjoy the food, drinks, scenery, fresh breeze, so you don't have to pay the entrance fees. Oh and the toilets are remarkably extraordinarily clean! Well done! Enjoy!

Nice and clean cabin although it's a bit pricey. Dinner was good, but the quantity was huge to the point of wasteful -- we took most of our leftover with us but still had to leave behind quite a bit. We did a guided hike that felt extremely rushed -- it was advertised as 2-3 hours but was over in 1 hour 45 minutes, no time at all to enjoy the natural scenery because I was too busy looking for the guide before he disappeared or looking at my feet to not trip.

Amazing place to stay and enjoy the natural atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have different types of accommodations, cozy and clean. The food in the restaurant is delicious, and made by locals, especially the cheese and the bread. Prices are good, and the location is good also, and close to many other attractions in Ajloun. Highly recommended 👌

Room is not clean at all, After we checked in they informed us there is not hot water and the solar system is broke, I received the room with blanket and towel scattered. They deserve one star for the location

Great new cottages with two bathrooms and two balconies. I recommend it everyone.they got a tv, AC, water kettle and all the other stuff that the old cottages three years ago didn’t have.

The environment is stunning and quiet. The size of deluxe cabin is suitable for small families (~4p) but not much clean. The price is a little bit high close to 4~5 starts hotels, including a breakfast only. The breakfast is very basic and simple. The preserve does not include the brown deer as they claim. My children did not see it as well as their is no playing parks for young kids. Only zibline and giant swing for adults, teenagers, and maybe for very brave young kids. Anyway, it is good to try once.

Loved the restaurant with a picturesque vista & beautiful fresh breeze. Great food & excellent friendly service....highly recommend it. The gift shop is also nice & has diverse memorabilia gift items....Great job Ajloun Reserve & RSCN

Huts were clean, view is mmmmmmmm breathtaking, staff are friendly, resort restaurant is simply wow and prices of the meals are reasonable. I recommend to everyone.

Great accommodation, breathtaking scenery, the sound on animals and nature….speechless. They have the best and the largest adventure park in the middle east, so scary yet super fun, I enjoyed the long zipline the most and the food was great, we had an amazing time, I advise booking a table on a view, but make sure you grab a jacket for night time. Overall 10/10 great personnel and service.

Beautiful forests in the middle of picturesque nature and imaginary atmospheres, there is a walk inside the reserve, several paths starting from 2 kilometers and there are restaurant services, bathrooms and a simple market, you can also sleep inside the wooden cottages.

We have stayed for one night in August, decided to stay in the super deluxe cabins (orchid villa), which is said to be the best cabin with the highest price! The place has a nice view, fresh air, great green scenery! But, sadly speaking it is very poor in terms of cleaning, maintenance, and furniture! The place was completely dirty; toilet, cushions, the floor, windows, even the electric kettle was full of limescale! No hot water for shower! The fridge was too small besides its nasty odour, and oops! the fridge is not working! No wild life at all! No privacy, and if you go there you would understand what i am talking about! I feel bad because this place could be way more better! It needs better management, attention, and loyalty from employees!

It was a task to find this place. They need better street signs to show you the way just in case you don't have GPS. The place is elegant and built up to bar. Seating was difficult. The staff is unorganized with minimal experience in customer service. Backyard Seating offers an amazing pandemic view. Inside Seating is awful. Food was good and affordable.
